I took a sabbatical from the "X"....  and have been riding the KTM 950 and the BMW Sertao exclusively for the past couple of weeks.  This morning I climbed back on the "X" and OH BOY....!!!!!  Wow I have missed my "X".  So super smooth and giddy-up power......

Tell you all....  It's going to take a very unique bike to pull me away from my beloved "X" that is outstanding for highway work and dirt roads!

Know how you feel. I took a 1.5 hr test ride today on a GS with its much vaunted ‘pro-shifter’. Felt really clunky compared to the DCT Crosstourer.
I handed it back without any qualms whatsoever!

I had a different experience on the 1200 RT, think it was 2017 MY.  I really liked it and found it to be pretty smooth.  But I did not buy it!  I do think the VFR is a little better in many regards and the DCT is smoother than anything out there.

Oh I loved all the toys on the GS especially the cruise control, I just didn’t like the gearbox.
Now if Honda got their act sorted and did a CT with all the bells and whistles, it would beat the GS into a cocked hat!
