A few years ago I was getting the K1 ready for a trip round europe. The night before leaving I found I had left the ignition on flattening the battery. Set about swapping the battery for one off another bike. All went well untill I dropped a screw behind the engine. I had a spare so should I leave the dropped one or find it. Half an hour later after stripping out lots of bits I found it. It was inside the alternator laying on the windings waiting for me to push the starter button so it could smash everyting it could. Now if I drop something in the gubbins I always find it. A BMW alternator then was north of £400. The screw about 5p.
