Drilling holes in top box
« on: July 21, 2019, 09:07:53 AM »
I have the standard silver honda top box on my 19 crosstourer, I want to fit a rack to the the top of the box so I can carry a roll bag on it, has anyone drilled holes into the box, does it split or crack and will it carry the weight of a medium size roll bag?

Hello Twobarstrev,

I drilled the top of my top box and fitted four marine eye bolts to allow the strapping of my tent on there !!

Never had a problem !   :152: :047:

Good luck with yours.

Its plastic, drill small pilot holes first.  Maybe install rubber/neoprene washers and flat metal washers to span the stress when torqued
