Pyramid Rear Hugger for 2016 Honda VFR1200X

I installed a Pyramid rear hugger on my VFR and I have to say that I am very disappointed with the product. It is very easy to install and I don't think it's possible to install it wrong. I followed the instructions and used the included hardware. My rear tire ended wearing a hole through the hugger because there is less than a cm between the tire and the item. I heard a lot of good comments about this product and I don't understand why it did not work for me. I'll attach a few photo on my next post. Has anyone had a similar problem with the hugger. Neither Bob's Bike Stuff or Pyramid are willing to help.

No it wasn't rubbing when I installed it, even though it was very close. I replaced the rear tire three times on my trip. I didn't hear any noise. It was a gradual wear, it took 26,000 km to get the result you see.

I think that photo was taken on third tire replacement. (Heidenau K76 tire)  there was a bit more space on my first tire ( Michelin Pilot Road 5-Trail).

Strange, I've had 2 Pyramid huggers on 2 CT's, 2013 and 2018, both were perfect, see pics of the 2018 CT hugger.

Both Bob's Bike stuff and Pyramid said it was the right item for my bike. In the package it said it was for 2010 +. Like I said, it's practically impossible the install it wrong unless you add or delete more hardware. That's why I ordered it, everyone was saying how well it fitted and worked.

I cut the end piece and I'm going to add more spacers, hopefully it will make it functional to some degree. Bob's and Pyramid won't provide any support if the product was purchased over 30 days or something like that.
Bob' Bike stuff did not reply to my e-mail but Karen (Export Director) from Pyramid did. She basically stated it was the right piece and that it was a fitting issue. And that they should have been notified within 30 days.

There are only three holes, one cannot fit it wrong! LOL.. I used all the hardware provided. It's no big deal, I can live without one. I'm just sharing in case it happens to someone else. i'll send photos of the updated version when I done.

Just looking at these huggers. Do you really have to remove the exhaust and rear wheel to fit one?
