Hi Guys, I was looking in the manual to see what spare bulbs I need for riding in France and Spain and it mentions Position Light 12v-5w x 2 any idea what these are?

    Thanks,

    Mick.

They are two 194 bulbs in the upper corners of the headlight. I replaced mine with amber LED bulbs.

Dave, did you also upgrade your headlight bulbs?

No, not yet, I am considering installing the Cyclops H7 led bulbs. I had them in my V Strom and they were eye blistering. The reflectors in the X are much different and I am not sure the results will be the same. I'm waiting for someone else to do it before I drop the coin on the bulbs, they aren't cheap.

Were you able to get the retaining clip around the cyclops?  I tried to install an LED yesterday, halfheartedly, and could not mage to get the retaining clip back around the heat sink.  I could probably remove the mounting screw that holds the retainer and then reattach in reverse.

I haven't tried yet, with the Cyclops you are supposed to install the H7 plate, clip it in, then twist the bulb into the plate. What bulbs did you buy?

Nighteye.  Kind of a blind purchase for the VFR.  However, my wife rides a CTX. On their forum, most are very pleased with the beam, throw, and increased visibility.  So ipurchsed for her and decided to try in mine.  If I can get it to lock, it will fit without altering the cap.

So on the Cyclops, you abandon the retaining clip...is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Mike
