Selling advice requested (UK)
« on: May 17, 2019, 04:58:15 PM »
Hi folks,

Due to a change in circumstances, I am no longer doing the big miles that I bought my manual CT for, so looking to sell (I have another bike for short distances and commuting).  However, before I do, I just wanted to canvass opinion.
This is a 2012/2013 bike on a 2015 plate with about 36,000 miles on it and a full dealer service history (I bottled-out on doing the valves at 32,000 and paid a stupid amount to the dealer!).  When I got the bike, I spent lot of money sorting it out for myself because I tend to keep bikes for a long time.  Therefore, I added:
- a Nitron shock
- Andreani cartridges
- centre stand
- cruise control
- Top Sellerie seat
- Akropovic pipe
- Barkbuster Handguards
- R&G Crash bars
- Throttle tamer
- a few other bits

I'll be honest, I know that if I sell it with all these bits on, I will lose a lot of money on them, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to do all the work to take them off!

Therefore, my question is:  Would you prefer to buy a completely standard bike or one that has been modded?  (i.e. mod bits may not be your first choice, but you will get a seriously good deal for them)

I'm not going to put a price on it here because its the wrong forum - this is just looking for opinions of people who have all bought CTs, so I can decide if I put it all back as standard (or near to)

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Jon

Before buying the CT, I sold my Varadero equipped with everything, I regret not having removed the extras and sold them separately. In Spain people buy motorcycles for the year of registration.
In my opinion, It would sell separately the Nitron shock, the Barkbusters handguards, Akropovic pipe and Top Sellerie seat.

Modified for me going on your modifications Jon. It is also usually a good indication of a well looked after bike.
