My last bike that I owned for 10 years was my KTM 950 ADV.  It was reliable as proven by the gent who just bought it, 14 years old and he rode it cross country 3200 miles!.  That was a great bike but compared to the CT well it was very rudimentary as to be expected due to its age.  Still probably the best real ADV bike out there.  CT is just better at everything except offroad.

I still have my 2005.5 KTM 950 Adventure S.....  Just can't part with it, as I have not ridden anything close to it in the dirt that weighs 500 lbs.  At speed it feels like a 300lb bike.

No question the CT is a better highway touring bike but for back-road touring.... The big Katoom reins!

I did actually but I couldnt stand the heat coming off the rear cylinders and it didnt have that dirt bike feel- too much of a difference. I actually test rode the superduke back to back and liked it better.   And then with the airbox sealing issues and their lack of support and price it was a no go

DCT CT to a ZZR1400 then back to a DCT CT the perfect bike for me. The ZZR1400 was an itch I just had to scratch and it is a fantastic bike probably one of the best all round bikes ever made but after two years it's time to come back nd I will be picking up the bike tomorrow. A 2015 Highlander model with 7k on the clock.
