Great job Andyrob.
Did Picos and Pyrenees last year and decided we would like to do more of Spain and into Portugal sometime.

We’re off to Santander in May. Is there enough in the Picos to keep us amused for about 8 days? Or should we split it with the Pyrenees? Also, we have our first couple of overnights booked, should we book all of them or is the availability good enough to find different places on the day?

I’d say that 8 days with one base in the Picos would be too long. We had 3 nights in Las Arenas , could maybe have done another night.  We then moved onto the Pyrenees, saw loads of good looking hotels with vacancies so I guess you could wing it without any real issues.

I agree with Paul, 3 days in the Picos and a couple of days meandering via perhaps Pamplona to spend a few days in the Pyrenees would be ideal I think.  :028:
I did as Paul, the Picos for a couple of days then down through Spain to meet the wife on the Costa Blanca for a week and then back through the Pyrenees, loved it.

If you need any advice on the routes I took then just drop me a PM.  :028:

Superb write up Andyrob,  :460:

Deffinately one to refer to when planning a trip to Portugal via the Picos.

Wife & I did the Picos last year and we`d planned to do Portugal in 2020 so thanks for sharing your trip.
