Me & the other half have booked 4 nights in Tenerife in May to do a `Fly ride`
Not taking the C.T. going to hire a bike when we get there.
We dont do beeches or lounge around, just going to explore & ride the roads.

    Just thought I`d mention it !  :082:

    Cheers Longdude,
    Bet your mate loved it.

    Thanks,
We are sure looking forward to it,
We`ve been to Spain & France a few times on the C.T. and loved it but this year its Tenerife & Ireland.

    £150 return flights to Tenerife (Per person) !  its a `no brainer`

Alway had a bit of a stigma attached to it for me. Been to all the others and then finally "tried" Tenerife.

Opinion did a complete reversal. Its a gem.

Best "Canary" for riding bikes. Has everything. Just got a taxi into the main tourist bit (Los Christanous? sp.) ended up with a 650GS (wanted their Versys but it needed a tyre). Was two -up and it was perfect for bopping about on any road or track. Get the michelin map.

Was there for a week 4 days on the bike and still never had the time to explore the far east of the island. The lighthouse on the far west is worth the trip but the absolute highlight is the spine road that runs along the middle of the island. Never got sick of riding it. Stunning. Especially early morning/evening. Just wow. Never got up the cable car near the volcano due to high winds so hope you get lucky.

Dont be put off like me, when you look up to the mountain from (we were in a house near Adeje) were you are staying and see it covered in cloud. Its just a doughnut! Ride up and break through the clouds into the blue!  :305:

    Hi Andyrob.
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I considered the other canary islands before booking Tenerife, but after looking on the `Bestbikingroads` website all the wiggly red lines on the Island that, made my mind up !

We`re staying in Adeje, going to try & book an 800 GS from `Moto4Fun` something like that.
Ironicaly i was looking  for a road map. You reccomend/mention the Michelin Map any idea of the map Number ? so I can buy one before we go.
    Thanks

Unfortunately, I do most of my forum posting in work! I'll have a look the night in the house.

I would have initially poured over the viamichelin site but this was downgraded from having all the roadmaps to generic mapping a while ago. Feckin Boo! :159:

    Hello Gents,

Just out of interest, what sort of ball park figure would you expect to pay for bike hire in this neck of the woods  :440: ?

I've researched for other parts of the world and found it surprisingly expensive  :005: :156: :005:

    Bye for now.

    Wack
