    A belated hello

    Hello everyone.

I actually joined this forum a few months ago and have been remiss in posting here.

I live in South England and have been a biker since 1982 (which basically dates me at 50-something, although I lose track now. Age is just a number right?)

I started (biking) life on a Honda 250 Super Dream. Much maligned bike but it gave me my first taste of biking freedom and I loved it and have never looked back.

Then - Kawasaki Z550A4, Honda CB900F2B, Honda VF1000F, Suzuki GSXR1100WP, Honda Blackbird, Kawasaki GTR1000, Triumph Trophy 1200 (97 model). And now the Honda Crosstourer.

For a while I was a member of my branch of IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists for those not in the UK) and passed the Advanced Test. In the end though I found them a bit tooooo sanctimonious for my personal comfort, so I left.

I have been happy to maintain my own bikes, although the Crosstourer is the first fuel injected bike I have ever owned, so I haven't touched the mechanics - as yet. No choke in the mornings!

Do I use it apart from commuting? Yes I do, it's what its made for, and I did a 2,500 mile trip over the Alps last summer (via Munich, and that beer).

I'm pretty tall so the Crosstourer fits me perfectly, and I have added an aftermarket can plus extras, which I have posted about elsewhere.

So there you go, my name is Mike and I apologise for a long, and probably boring, introduction, but there you go!

I just want to add I have found this forum invaluable - I love it! Cheers.  :821:

Hi Mike and  :400: along to the colleCTive, great introduction and what an eclectic mix of bikes you’ve had over the years, I remember lusting after a Honda CB900F2B back in the day but funds would never allow.  :028:

Many thanks Dave. The CB900F2B was awesome - red and white with gold wheels. Sometimes I look at the prices of one on eBay and think Hmmmmmmmmm. Plus I wouldn't get a pink ticket for such a purchase. Anyway, I saw one recently and omg they are so smaaaaallll physically. The Crosstourer is my ideal bike. Oh yes.

     :400: along.
    Great set of bikes  :062:
CB900F was my first big bike (from CB100) … loopy!!  But actually it was something of a pussy cat, big, comfy, soft
However, with no screen you soon got longer arms …
    I did fancy the F2 though ...
