Great pics Steve, looks pretty challenging, was that the first time you've ever done that sort of thing?

Hi Paul - first and only time.
The group was pretty mixed; some virgins like me, others were 2-3 times experienced.
It didn't seem to matter, we started easy and it just got more fun (harder!!).
As I said my only problem was the bike height and a slight hamstring strain I got at the start ('cos the bike was so tall!) ... just means you have to ride smarter  :110:
You'll love it  :169:

Did the Mick Extance course today, Steve you were bang on, i loved it!

Ive never even ridden an offroad bike before let alone do any off roading. When i arrived at the venue this morning i would have never beleived what sort of terrain id be taking a bike over by the end of the day.

When we first set off we rode up a long gravel road to a training area and i have to say i found a pretty nerve-racking start. Gravel car parks/freshly surface dressed roads etc always have me twitching so this was really uncomfortable until you got a feel for just how much grip the tyres gave you. By the end of the day i wasnt at all fazed by it.

Mick and his team were brilliant. They gave just the right balance of guidance, encouragement and having a laugh to give you the confidence to give stuff ago.

Ive ridden through thigh high water, ruts that were nearly as high as the saddle, up and down steep trails through forests, over rocks, state, logs, been airborne a few times and had a few crashes and im still buzzing.

Not only am i amazed at what a bike can do, im completely staggered at what one can do with a numpty like me on board.

Im very lucky, ive been loads of places on my bike and had some great days in the saddle, this one was up there among the best.

Theres a few guys on here that do a lot of this sort of thing and i completely get it.

Those who never have, i highly recommend giving it a go.

Ill post the link when the pics go up on Facebook.
