    Honda top box removal

    Hi all.
Having had my bike for a month or two, I decided to remove my top box to see if the bolts are all tight. So I put the key in, turned it, pushed the lever down , but I can't  get it to move. Guess it slides back and lifts up. No chance.
Am I being supremely stupid, not unusual or does it need a certain technique ?

It pushes forward  well takes more of a good thump to get it to slide off   Keep hold of the handle

For dismount is the other way. Caution the lever up.

Thanks so much both of you.

Well, lever pulled up, click at the top and the hook underneath moves clear of the mounting plate.
I can't move it back to lift it off. I've given it a big slap but no good.
Ironically,  I asked the previous owner of my bike if he had removed it during his ownership , but he hadn't . He has bought another Crosstourer now and today, ried to remove his top box and has the same problem.
    Any more ideas ?

You keep saying back  it moves to the front of the bike   mine takes that much force it feels like the bike will roll of the side stand

Just to make it clear, I'm pushing the box from the handle (back) toward the handle bars. As in the diagram kindly posted by Oskar. It's gotta make you laugh, doesn't it  :084:
