    Hello All,
I’m Mitch from near Leeds in the UK.
I currently own a 2012 VStrom and have my eyes on a 2016 DCT model.
Has anyone upgraded from a 650 VStrom ?.

I bought a Transalp 700 to comute to a new job, great bike but at 6'6", a little cramped for me........now, my new 1200x DCT fits me spot on. The 650 storm is good, but the Honda is better. In my humble opinion. So much grunt.
    Go for it

Thanks for the input Longdude , I’m 6ft4 myself so next question was going to be how are they for the taller rider. Looks like you’ve answered that one too 👍

The transalp is great, light, pokey and cheap but a little cramped.  If I wasn't a giant, I'd  stick with it.

But the VFR engine is so good, go for it ! Happy days.

I did, had 2015 650 VStrom and went to a 2013 C/T, I'm 6'3", C/T superior in all respects, now on my 2018 C/T. both C/Ts are DCT which is fantastic.

Hi Mitch and :400: along to the colleCTive.
I would definitely give the DCT version a try if you get the chance as it is a simply outstanding system and you get use to it in a heartbeat.  :028:

    Hi Mitch, I upgraded from a v-strom , but mine was a 2008 DL1000.
I'm thinking of selling my CT if you change your mind and want a manual gearbox
