No. I have used and loved the standard RDL so I went with the known quantity.  I have no qualified input to make regarding the sport seat. Would love to hear someone who does chime in...

I agree, the original RDL looks like it would be the perfect aftermarket seat for my 2014 F6C Valkyrie

I just ordered my RDL, to be made just like the OP's saddle.  I won't get it back until February, but will post pics once I receive.

Yep... it's going to be an $800 investment, but I had the same saddle on my BMW GS and it allowed/encouraged the wife and I to ride 400-500 miles a day without discomfort.  We are planning a 2-up Alaska ride in 2020 and this saddle is the last modification needed for the bike for that trip.

That's an ambitious route, Big John.  It's definitely a good idea to keep your cheeks happy for 10K miles!

Wow thats not a seat - its an armchair! Given USA roads are designed for long distance travel, that looks fantastic -especially for a pillion .But given the narrow windy roads here in the UK i wonder about you ability to move about on it  for bend swinging?

Russell builds upon your seat pan which requires a bit of down time.  Unless your short legged buddy buys the low seat and happens to lend you his standard seat to ride.

You may invest in colors, fabrics, heat, backrests.  My simple build cost $650 USD.

I also added a Bestrest backrest (not from Russell). Simple and elegant, in my opinion.

The beauty of the build is Russell uses pictures you send to dial in your fit.

It may not be the most economical option, especially for those not in North America.  But if you don't just want "better", I submit the RDL is "best".

Did you have to remove or modify the passenger grab handles on either side to accommodate the width of the saddle?  I am having one made at Russell right now and do wonder if the wide bucket of the saddle will fit between the handles that protrude up from the frame on either side.  I had a previous custom saddle built and it devekoped rub marks on either side from pressing against the handles.  I don't see the handles on your bike.
