Africa Twin OEM Panniers on a VFR1200X

I recently bought a 1200X and it came with an aftermarket exhaust and a set of Africa Twin OEM panniers attached to the bike.

The left pannier fits perfectly.  The right one clamps normally at the mounting rail, but does NOT connect to the rubber mount piece below.

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this before and if so, how much weight can that right pannier hold without breaking the mount?

I would surely make an extra bracket so the bottom will rest on the rubber mount.

The base of the pannier with a heavy load will definitely need support.

    Jarrett,

Who is the manufacturer of the aftermarket can?  Would/does the right pannier fit without the aftermarket can?

    Thank you

My understanding is no.  You have to have an aftermarket exhaust to run the AT OEM panniers.

Here's what my VFR1200X is running:

Hi jarrett, hope you still enjoying your VFR1200X!
I just bought one all original with DCT trans. and I really want to get a set of Africa Twin panniers but not sure if it's going to fit although it seems like it should.
You mentioned that you have a aftermarket exhaust can and it would not fit on the right side.
Have you tried or maybe heard that AT panniers would fit VFR with original can?

I don't believe AT cases with fit with stock VFR exhaust.
