Ref. the jacket, I don’t have one but there’s a guy on the interweb called Richy Vida (Wildbad Touring) that has been using one recently and raves about it.

Ref XR1000, again, not me but a friend of mine and X CT owner ( he’s had 2 actually) has just swapped to the XR. He loved his CTs but I think I’d be right in saying that he feels the BMW is a step up on the Honda.

Tis funny how BMW owners are always the only ones who think that  :180:

I don’t really want to speak for my friend but to be fair, he was very happy with the CTs he owned.

However when the time comes to change the lack of any model upgrades/updates on the CT makes it difficult to justify spending out again for exactly the same.

I’m on my second and I’m really pleased with it but unless they do something it will be my last CT.

BMW have aced that with the GS, constant updates mean that someone with a 2/3 year old bike can chop it on for a new GS and feel that it was worth it.

Thanks Hartley

Good to have some un biased views

Jacket I am tempted

On the XR could you ask your friend about the vibtation and if he did anything to try and cure, not that he CT is the most smooth through the bars, but the BM always comes up as a vibration problem

Cheers guts.

Good post Maverick
Same problem I’ve had over many years, reminder to self “ must sell some old/unused gear”
I bought a Dainesse two piece textile suit 3 years ago, can’t remember the name at the moment,
Mid priced suit, I don’t ride all year mind, so being completely waterproof can’t say, but I’ve ridden through some bad weather on a trip to Italy and it coped well, only thing I would say is the crotch area was damp!!!  :005: “but they all do that sir”
And gloves!! Well don’t get me started.....

We will  have to meet up some time as fairly local to you?

Reagards

I’m near Guildford Surrey
Just been reading a feature in Ride magazine and Oxford have bought out a new range,
I think it’s  waterproof system is a laminate layer, might be worth checking out

Cheers.

Laminate is good to have a waterproof outer as i dont personally like a removable inner waterproof layer.

Might have a bimble up to Box Hill next Sunday the some Surrey Hill roads.
