Any of you guys from California that own a VFR1200X. Corbin Seats Company is looking to borrow your bike for a few weeks , to make a mold for the VFR1200X. in return you get a free Corbin seat and you help out the other owners , who live to far away.

Sure hope someone can help them out. I’ve got 2 of their seats on other bikes and can highly recommend them for comfort. :028:

Price and weight. Now that’s another thing... :003:

Hi, its good to see talk of other optional seats for the VFR1200X. I haven't heard of Corbin seats before, but can any of you confirm these are the most comfortable for long rides? I just finished a 2000 km weekend ride and a nicer seat would help to make the long rides better. I did see that Touratech make a seat for the crosstourer, and I am interested to hear from any of you who have tried alternative seats?
    Cheers

If a Corban seat becomes available for the CT, I’d recommend it. As said, I have 2 of their seats on other bikes, and they are superbly comfortable. :028:

Ordering from New Zealand, is complex and expensive. The agent is in Australia, and I’ve found difficult to deal with.  :087:
If you persevere with the ordering process, and are prepared to pay through the nose and wait up to 4 months for the build and shipment, it’s worth it.

The Touratech seats are in my opinion, and others I’ve spoken to, not a lot better than stock.

Top Sellarie from France have a good reputation, and maybe worth you checking out.

Thanks for the reply, and its good to hear from another kiwi riding the 1200X. :305:

I appreciate the feedback on the Touratech seat, and I'll take a closer look at the french "Top Sellarie" seats, which look good from what I've seen online just now...

If you're keen to hit the tarmac for a ride sometime, let me know. Our summer is just around the cornier, and I'm looking forward to some good NZ rides in the near future.

    Cheers
