    Back to the Honda fold

    Hi All,

Recently joined the forum as I have purchased a new Crosstourer Highlander for September (2018) delivery.
Previous bikes have been Triumphs Tiger 800's and a couple of Explorers.  Unfortunately, although great bikes, I am putting too many miles on per annum (20k +) and need a more economic (in terms of life cycle costs, depreciation etc.) workhorse.

Test rode the new Highlander and like many on the forum enjoy my riding and not yet tempted by the DCT as it seems to take away so much of the reason for riding.
I am sure DCT owners would, and already have said on this forum, that they felt the same initially but after a period of time were convinced.  Well lets see in a couple of years or so, I may have changed my mind.

Have been a loyal fan of Honda vehicles worldwide as bought a Honda CR-V in China when we lived there, brought it home to the UK and it was so reliable it was bullet-proof for 11 years.  Great build quality.

Looking forward to the Highlander.  I have a 250 mile daily commute (three times a week) and volunteer at weekends using the bike. Have already found some useful tips on the forum and I haven't taken delivery of the bike yet.
Many thanks to you all for that.  :460:

Heading off down to the Pico for a late summer holidayon the 4th of September.  No doubt the ferry will be full of bikes and who knows maybe a crosstourer or two amongst them.  :031:

Safe riding all and keep posting.

Hope the crosstourer is as reliable as the CR-V.
    Safe riding.

Hi Steve and  :400: along to the colleCTive.  :028:
I’m also heading to the Picos on the 4th on the Bilbao ferry, so you just might see another CT Highlander.  :028:

    Hi Dave,

    Many thanks for your message.
Unfortunately, we are on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry heading out on the Tuesday (4th) at 17:15 otherwise, I would have looked out for you.
A week in the Picos so may bump into you if you are around that area.
Anyway, safe travels and I hope you enjoy the trip.

Make sure you get some queso de Cabrales while you’re out there. It’ll cover any smell of petrol and the stuff the grannies put up will also ward off colds and flu.
