    Hello Folks,

Could you please advise what you have paid for an 8000 mile service. They apparently need the bike for about 1hr 40mins and they are going to charge me £190 !!   :005:

    I'm in the wrong job !!   :012:

    Regards.

Is it warranty work?  I guess not with it being chargeable

Why not do the service yourself?

8000 is an oil and filter change [cost you £40] and a check that everything is tight and dandy!

Save yourself £150 - learn more about your bike - know it's been done properly and get some self-satisfaction!

M and P (recommended) service kit £25.49 with free delivery

    Hello Fat Bert,

I've always done my own services and repairs, but then I've never had a new bike that needs its warranty preserving until now ! ! !

I did an oil and filter change at 4000 mile (which I always do it at that interval).

I guess I'm just going to have to grin and bare it  :001: ( :138: :192:)

I was recently quoted £170 - £200; should've been at the lower end because no pads were required. Parts (oil, two oil filters) were about £25, but I'm not sure what I actually paid for the service, because I also asked them to fit two tyres.

Total labour charged for was 3 hours, again including tyres (i.e. wheels and tyres removal and replacement).

Anyway, I think what you've paid is quite typical for the 'annual service'.

That’s exactly what I’ve just paid at Grantham Wack, it was just the normal annual service, which I think was just fluids and checks.
