Thinking of buying a used Crosstourer

    Hello all

I am 63 and live in North Shropshire. I currently ride a CBF1000GT which I really like, riding about 12K per year. Unfortunately severe arthritis in my left hand means I have to consider  DCT. I am 172 cm tall and wonder whether I might be a bit small for this bike? Any advice gratefully received.

    Thank you and best wishes

    Gary

:400: and safe riding  :305:Gary. Crosstourer is a great bike however you may have a problem with your height and weight of the bike when coming to a halt. Test ride one bearing in mind you can get a lowering kit and a bit off the side and centre stand. A friend has done exactly this and he is about your height. Given you need a DCT like me if your not happy riding the CT then you must try the Africa Twin with the seat in the lower position you would be okay. Also it is about 40kg lighter. Both bikes can tour but the CT would be better at this. Good luck.

Thank you Bill. Please could you advise what it cost to do the lowering and by how much it was lowered? Is the CT reasonable on fuel for long hauls and with a good tank range for touring?
    Cheers
    Gary

Hi Gary and  :400: along to the colleCTive.  :028:
I have to agree with Yasko with regards height, weight etc. but also agree to explore the lower seat plus centre stand option, as to cost I’m afraid I can’t help but if buying from a dealer have a go at negotiating it into the cost of the bike.  :028:

I know it perhaps shouldn’t but I must be honest the Honda ADV-X really does appeal.  :138:
