    Akro silencer advice required.

Does anyone know for a fact if the newer type fixed twin baffle akro can will fit the older bike. I cannot see why it would not.
But a call to Honda yesterday tells me it not compatible.

The mount is in the same position, so is the exhaust pipe a different bore or does it terminate in a different location.

Honda could not tell me why. Just computer says no.

I am not sure but may I ask why you would want to mount one anyway?  More noise is basic result and even then from what I have heard it is not a particularly pleasing note.  That, and the high cost, has put me off ever considering mounting one.

    I agree. I just can’t see the point :084:
The standard can has a very pleasing sound. Maybe you’ll save a wee bit of weight with an Akro can, but if it’s a lightweight bike you’re after, you’re pushing sh#t uphill trying to lighten a CT :157:
Save your money for gas, tyres and beer :031:

Well the problem is that the 2018 model exhaust has a different Honda ordernumber than the <2016 model.
So every dealer will give the same answer: it is different so it will not fit.
However, the fiches look exactly the same...
Even more strange, some brands specify the exhaust 2012-2015 other brands do not so will they fit all model years?

:431: but cant say for sure...

Well, i will answer my own question tomorrow.
Ordered the latest style Akropovic Silencer.

Should arrive tomorrow. If it doesn’t fit, i will know why.

Then there will be a MINT BOXED Akropovic twin baffle Silencer up for sale.

    Update.
Latest style akropovic silencer will fit the earlier bike.
    No problems.
    No issues.

    Slipped on in minutes.
    Happy Happy.

So in the last week, bike has had a Nav 6. Hepco and Becker black sump guard. Medium Touratech seat and now another Akropovic silencer.

Guess it’s got to be a keeper now.

Was tempted by another KTM 1290S. But even with the discounts. To get this level of bling it would cost me around £15,000.

Wouldn’t normally think twice about changing my bike. But growing rather fond of this one now.

You know what they say, Nick...pics or it didn't happen!  Let's see that bad-boy of yours.   :082:  I'd particularly like to see the H&B skid plate.  I have not ever seen one in black.
