Hey all, new to the vfr1200x world, just got a brand new 2016 in black.

    Such a stellar bike.

Got rid of my Tenere of several years for a large Honda touring bike. That didn't last long, and now I'm happy to be back on a big adv-sized bike.

The Crosstourer has so much more power all over the place than the Tenere felt like it had.

Not knocking the big Yamaha, but I wish I would have gotten on the Honda sooner!

I had a dct vfr1200f for about a year but couldn't stay comfortable for more than 30 mins at a time.

What a difference in the Crosstourer!

Glad to be here, hope to learn lots from everybody.

Noticed the snatchy throttle but only under 20mph or so... I'm good with it for now but I could eventually see myself looking into buying a remedy.

    Thank you!

Going to try these Veejay's settings but maybe add a couple clicks harder on the rear shock for my heavier-than-80kg weight!!  :008:

Hi Thork. I also have a 2016 model and love the bike. Enjoy your bike and this forum.

    Thanks all!

Lucky me, I let my brother take it for a spin around the neighborhood. No worries, safe rider, never dropped a bike and I let him ride my bike all the time.

He brings it to a stop and at zero mph, it falls on its left side on top of him.

After making sure he's ok, the damage looks minimal.

Clutch lever snapped, scrapes along the engine case on left side of the differential cover. Seemingly no other damage!

These two scrapes are basically the ONLY cosmetic damages. But both happen to be the most expensive pieces to replace!

I'm slightly OCD about my vehicle's condition, but I suppose I'll learn to live with the scratches.

What freaked me out a bit was that after getting it upright in a matter of seconds (I'm a rather hefty lad) the motor took several attempts to turn over before firing up.

It was about 4 starting attempts with two on/off key cycles before it actually fired up.

Maybe this is normal when you drop a CT? Only bike I've ever dropped is a Harley and it fired right up.

That's my only real concern, is did something mechanically get damaged? Thoughts?

And yes, yesterday was Friday the 13th  :005:

OMG Thork, now there’s unlucky and there’s unlucky and I imagine the “brotherly love” was stretched to the max.  :164:

    Hi
I also recently bought a 2015 Crosstourer with only 4 500 km on the clock. So far I'm enjoying the bike. Looking forward to my first long trip. I'm also new to the forum, so I'll be watching the posts from you guys from here in South-Africa. I recon I'm the only member from South-Africa.
Looking forward to read and learn more about these bikes.
    Greetings
