A few things
« on: July 09, 2018, 02:25:33 AM »
Hello all,  excuse if my post is not the most mechanically proper... but i ahve been going crazy.

I have this weird droning feel on second gear, like a buzz..stop..buzz..stop...buzz, when i am at 35-40 mph you can also hear the windscreen buzzing at that rhythm.

and that's only when accelerating.

Also the vfr1200x is my 1st shaft drive bike and i have all this clanking coming from the shaft and i wonder if its normal or its broken!

The bike rides well and accelerates without issues nor cut offs. Any help or explanation is greatly appreciated

the reason i  can feel the buzzing is on the steering and the windshield assembly

There was a recall on the drive shaft.  Are you unaware of this?  Check your VIN.

As for the buzz, it may just be a characteristic of your bike in that condition, or something loose - or not.  But get it checked if/when you take the bike to a dealer for drive shaft concerns.

checked for recalls, nothing for mine, it might because i never had a shaft drive bike... generally its a pretty silent shaftdrive except for low speeds and 1st gear which im aware its supposed to make some clunking. The whole thing has me paranoid... i mean even the v4 engine... going from 4 inline 4 bikes to a v4 its a whole new world...

Did you check with Honda to establish if your driveshaft was replaced ?
