    Hi All,

Well today I finally bit the bullet and traded in my 2016 Honda Crossrunner after doing 12,000 mile from new in the past 18 months, for a used, one owner Crosstourer Highlander after months of deliberation.

Actually doing the switch on Wednesday 28th then it will be out for a long "getting to know you" ride. Living in Somerset, U.K. this will probably be a spin down to and around Exmoor, Lynton and Lynmouth. Also testing the handling on hills and hairpins by riding up and down Porlock Hill  :001: before further rides up into the Brecon Beacons etc..

My other bike is a 2002 Blackbird with 58,000 Miles on the Clock, though you wouldn't guess that from how it runs and another reason for sticking with Honda.

Looking forward to getting to know you all online and maybe out on the roads sometime.

The CT is a heavy beast when static or pushing it around but the weight just disappears once mobile, there are lots of ex owners of blackbirds on the forum so you should feel right at home here

Welcome from sunny lancashire (even though its fooking freezing  :190:)

Welcome from freezing and probably snowy Rome, Italy.

You made the right choice  :305:

Thanks to you all for the welcome.

Yes, a bit heavier than the Crossrunner but have previously owned a Yamaha Super Tenere and then a Kawasaki GTR1400 and that really was heavy!!! It was this bike that I traded in when buying the Crossrunner. My test ride on the CT was specifically to check out low speed handling and tight cornering where I found it OK (better than expected). No problems with the Crossrunner but felt it time for a change and a bit more grunt. I will let you know how I find the handling after my upcoming tour of the Alps and Dolomites in June, not too worried about this as I managed the Alps a couple of years ago on the GTR and am sure the CT will far be less of a handful than that was.

As for moving the bikes around in the garage, I have a small turntable, so once on the centre stand it's just a case of pressing down on the rear end and walking the bike round to point the right way. £75.00 well spent.

By the way, today was bright and sunny, though chilly here in Weston super Mare and across the Bridge at the Dealer's in south Wales. Not so sure about the weather for collection day this coming Wednesday though  :034:

I've not even enough room 'to swing a cat around' in my garage, never mind a 7 foot long bike  :745:
