I've just bought,( but not yet picked up), a 2013 Crosstourer ,and phoned Footman James to tell them I've sold my old Blackbird and R1100s and I wanted to insure it .They told me the Crosstourer is on their list of bikes they don't cover ! Has anyone else had this ? Also, has anyone got a good insurer they can recommend please ? I'm 64 , No claims for 25 years and no points . I'm baffled.

No idea why it would be on any list not to insure??

Careful with Bemoto and the like as to your annual mileage, some think over 4k is not to be covered??

There is no problem with higher annual mileage with Bemoto, just tell them what you expect to do, even if you go over the expected miles you can easily update it
I have 2014 dct Highlander with  Touratech seat, Akrapovic  exhaust, bash plate and other mods all covered like for like, fully comp for under £150. I know it won't be the same cost for everyone due to different circumstances, but I think they are worth at least a phone call

+1 for Bemoto ... who also told me about going over the mileage allowance (5K for me).
If I have (unlikely) then the insurer will increase my excess if I claim ... but if I tell Bemoto then they can sort it for less than the extra excess.

Yeah, I've heard of the CT being on the list of bkies not to be covered.

I had a reasonable deal with Adrian Flux last year (limited mileage).  This year I've gone with Hastings Direct.  Fully Comp £110 (£140 with legal), no mileage limit and EU cover included.  Pay up front.

I'm 46 with full no claims etc same as you.
