Upgrading pre '14 model DCT gearbox software?

I was wondering if it possible to upgrade a 2012 & 2013 bike to include the 2014 model improvements to the DCT software.  I understand that the pre 14 model stays in manual mode after selecting a manual gear in auto mode, whereas the later model reverts back to Auto mode after a short while.  I have ridden a 2017 demonstrator and loved the auto 'box.  Haven't ridden an older model.  But the budget is limited and I'm thinking of ways to update an older model.  Any thoughts? Am I bothering too much?   Would appreciate your thoughts.
Just love my HONDA Crosstourer dct, and my manual TDM900.

    Hi Navigator.

' I understand that the pre 14 model stays in manual mode after selecting a manual gear in auto mode, whereas the later model reverts back to Auto mode after a short while.'

Incorrect. I have a '12 one and it goes back to auto after a few sec. The soft is not as precise as post 15 apparently but it is fantastic anyway. Rode a new DCT  AT for 3 days recently and did not feel such a big difference

    Have a good shopping!

You should not notice the difference although later DCT box's had 3 sport modes which make no difference to me because I use manual 95% of the time.

Mine is a 13 model and it reverts to Auto mode when you select another gear manually - up or down

Whilst I admit I haven't ridden the newer version of DCT, I cant fault the software on mine - 95% of the time in manual

Either 2 up with luggage - or on my own playing with the Power Rangers I cant fault the DCT system. Had a play with an experienced boyyo on his Triumph Triple ast week - after 20 miles or so he couldn't get past and came alongside - lifted his visor - shouted - "Christ thats one quick bike round the bends"

Just ride it like you stole it and you'll enjoy Honda's best

I have a 2013 DCT (my 2nd DCT, previous bike was VFR1200FD) and love the system. I would be interested to know if it's possible to 'update the software' so that I would have the 3 sports modes. I tend to use the sport mode more than drive & manual.

Thanks everyone.  I've raided the piggy bank big style and landed a 2015 model, which I am told has just one "Sport" mode, not the three on the 2016 model.  I have no idea if it is possible to upgrade to the 2016 spec, or even if it's necessary.   I've not collected the bike yet, so I'm talking "in the dark" so to speak.  Perhaps you'll allow me to come back on this topic when the bike arrives and I've tried the big girl out.

Mines a 2015 and all you really need is the one sport mode, in MHO. :002:
