    CT - AT - Tracer 900 - Tiger XC 800

    Anybody riden all four?

I really am not gelling with my CT despite lots of money spent on it.

I had a Tiger 800XC when they first came out for almost 4 years (loved it) before getting the CT as I did not want to wait for the AT.

I have riden both AT variants, and whilst good they are quite common and lack some character, imo.

Not riden the tracer, but could be a good option, is it ok with some off road or just tarmac based?

The V Strom and Versys dont do it for me, and also some quality issues.

Maybe the KTM adventure, but a bit expensive

    Cheers for your thoughts

Sorry to hear that your not enjoying your CT Maverick, but with regards to a possible replacement have you thought about the Yamaha S10 Super Tenere.
I had one prior to the CT's and in my opinion is a very underrated piece of kit.

I too have decided to make a change for something lighter, and have been looking around.

Tiger 800XC is a great bike, and deals can now be done for good used bikes.
Tracer is an amazing beast, which I will be having another test on soon. If I can talk my local dealer into parting with their ex demo with the full touring kit on at the right price that may be the one.
AT doesn't do it for me.
I like the look of the Versys, and despite stories of poor finish/reliability I will be going to have a look this week.

Just to add to your list, I like the look and reviews of the Multistrada 950, and won't be making any decisions until I've tried it for myself.

Good to read, and more options

It seems you are on similar thoughts to my own

Its good to expand and try out the wider choice.

Thinking of something lighter like the Tracer 900 myself. Did anyone try one or make the move?
Stories of bad suspension would concern me though!

My brother has a new 17 plate Tracer 900 this year, I had at the time a Supertenere 1200X we swapped for about 38 miles and i wanted back on my Supertenere for the softer seat, and footpeg position, a great bike but not an out and out adventure bike, ideal for someone trying to get out of sports bikes to a more upright position  :305:

Took a 2015 Tracer 900 for a 2 hour test drive a couple of weeks ago. It was fun but I think the CT feels much higher quality. I liked the light feel and how it handled on good roads, also filtering was very easy. Eats up motorway too.  I didn't like the snatchy throttle however and the suspension couldn't handle bumpy roads. I actually left the seat on a bumpy lane. Dealer told me suspension could be adjusted but I'm not going to take the chance. Was a bit disappointed. I thought I was going to love it reading all the reports online etc.  Appreciate my CT again now and will hold on to her for another while.
