    Hepco & Becker skid plate?

I'm considering buying a H&B skid plate for my DCT.  I like the look of it because it's black, like most of my bike, and tidy-looking.

But I'd first like to check, with anyone who has one fitted / knows, how well it fits; bike has the OEM centre-stand, in case that makes any difference.

Also, what's it made of?  Mild steel or aluminium? (or 'aluminum' for our American cousins, who don't know any better  :002:).

    And how heavy is it?

The H&B site and fitting instructions don't say very much about it.

    TIA.

I've just fitted one to mine, I'm very happy with it.
It's a bit fiddly to fit because you have to replace two of the spacers on the front engine mounts with the mounts for the skid plate.
It does look smart though, I just wanted more protection for that bit of the bike so there'll be less cleaning!

It is quite heavy so must be made from steel and it sits nicely just in front of the centre stand.

    Best retards, John.

    Skip the H & B one IMHO

You can still damage the plastics above it in a off. (Same as SW Motech)

Better off going for the Givi one.

Hmmm...why would the Givi one be better?

When I will consider the purchase of a skid plate, I might take in serious consideration this option:

Because it is black, looks light and it seems like there is no need to remove the plastics besides the engine and, last but not least, it’s cheaper  :305:

BY the way...don't know how the other skid plates mount but with the Hepcos, you get these mounting rods that come all the way down to the plate and make the perfect mount for you after market sound bomb. :152:

I mounted the unit that comes separated from the compressor....its just awesome.  :046:

Used reflective heat shield to protect the horn from the heat of the exhaust. Have done over 300km without any issues. :031:
