    Oil seals

Has anybody had a problem with fork oil seals? My offside seal started to weep at around 6k miles. Had it replaced under warranty; two weeks, 800 miles and an IAM skills day at Thruxton later and it gave up completely (oil pooling on the wheel rim when on side stand). Had it replaced again along with the fork bushes (technician at Smiths Honda (good guy) decided to change as there was a little play); seems OK now but odd it failed twice.

On another note, I needed to use Hondacare to get the bike to the dealers. Called at 820 Saturday morning and the AA guy was at my house at 840, impressive service!

    Cheers

Had my near side fork seal go, notice a little pool of liquid, thougt it was from the rain, but then noticed it at the next stop. Been leaking over the Easter break and over 1500 miles, there might just be a bit of oil left!!

Thinking of getting both replaced as if one can go, then the other could follow soon........

MOT was 2 weeks ago, so only just gone.......20K

Following on from my original post, fork seal on the same side has gone again, slight weep since shortly after it was done but deifinitely getting worse now (thought it could have been residual oil from the fitting process). Looks like there is something else causing the damage, glad the bike is under warranty for another year, could get expensive?

I bought my CT in November 2017 with about 4900 miles on it. At 8116 Miles RH seal was leaking, this last week. I replaced both. Unfortunately mine is not warranty. I will see how long this lasts. I really like the bike but this better not be an ongoing issue. My only consolation now is that the Honda dealer where I bought the bike did the seal replacement so I get a warranty from them.

Mine also failed during an advanced riders class.

It has been reported more often, I've had a leak seal on my first CT, now on my 2015 bike still no problems with 52.000 km/32.000miles. But when your seals has gone for the second time within this litte milage they should really look for unevenness in the vorks. Sand them with something like soft scotch brite pads.

One other thing, if bikes are standing on the jiffy for a long time, all seals wil start to leak.
