    Is standard luggage waterproof?

Off on my first trip to Lago Maggiore Italy on my new to me 2015 CT. Quick question to the forum experts, are the standard panniers and top box waterproof? Maybe a daft question but rather check now that find out later. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Cheers

    Dave.

    Hey dj,

I have the standards and they haven't leaked yet, although haven't been out in much more than a shower. Apparently the older zipped top box versions weep slightly.
I am sure there are a few hardened CT'ers on here that have ridden in a few torrential downpours that can better advise.

I've ridden through some terrible downpours and the panniers didn't leak.
The top box is is still in my loft as I use a givi v46. The standard is too small.

I have had zero leaks from the standard panniers in some horrible conditions over the years. (I use a Givi top box)

Cleaning them with a sponge and bucket of water they do. Which is where and when I dont mind. :001:

Have a great trip and enjoy your new bike. Get some pics up when you get back!

My panniers seem to be waterproof, But as a matter of course I pack into a bin liner, Then into the pannier boxes.
For me just in case, Stops any worry.

    Cheers Owen.
