    Bashed on the bonce !

Sunday morning cruising down the A2 at a more than reasonable speed, my touring screen detached itself, bashed me on the bonce and disappeared. My mate who was at the time struggling to keep up on his Yam Super Ten saw it fly up in the air towards the central reservation somewhere. I'm just glad it didn't impale him.

We circled back to hunt for it but couldn't find it. I studied my helmet cam footage Sunday night to see exactly where it came off and went back Monday with my Wife in the car to look for it again.

Wouldn't you know it, I found it sitting on a nice patch of foliage between the carriageways without a scratch on it. I think I'll do the fixings up a bit tighter this time.  It must have just dropped down in the brackets over time till it couldn't hold on any longer.

The camera's paid for itself too.  :008:

so glad you found it harmony.
I had a visor make a similar bid for freedom of my old agv, i stopped the bike no more than 50m down the road, walked back, no cars had passed me, early sunday morning, when i got to where it had came off i looked and looked but could not find the damn thing.
Lid was crap anyway so it gave me a chance to replace with a nice Shoei.
So well worth the revisit harmony.  :028:

Yeah, that made me laugh too.  You should see the video.  It was gone in a nano-second.  It didn't hang about!

I have checked my screen bolts a couple of times and found they need tightening- but then I do adjust the screen  almost every journey ---so shouldn`t  complain . Mind you talk about things flying off at high speed , I tend to avoid your average holidaymaker - tearing along in their tin box at 90 in the outside lane,  with 4 bikes strapped to roofrack--You hate to think of the carnage if a bike came loose  :005:

:0461: Ive thought the same and hate following a car with bikes strapped on the back. Nearly as dangerous as when the lycra clad idiot is riding it. :164:
