    First 6k on 2nd CT

My bike's booked in for a new set of tyres tomorrow, the original Pirellis have done 5827 miles. Not great but not too bad either. Decided to try Pilot Road 4s this time, was very happy with the Anakee 3s i used on my last CT but thought id try something different.

Coming on 6000 miles in 4 months ( my first ride was on the 25 Feb) on my 2nd CT got me to thinking about my overall impression of this bike, did i regret not going for the GS that was seriously in the running, should i have gone for another FJR or should i have kept my previous manual bike?

I obviuosly liked my previous CT or id have never even considered buying another. Despite Honda UKs best efforts to put me off i still put my deposit down for this bike.
Well i have to say i feel i made the right decision. I am so impressed with the DCT 'box, its what makes the CT stand apart from the competition in my opinion. its not faultless and can be wrong footed on occaision but in fairness, as experience with it grows you learn how to get the best from it. The latest version has updates that could well address the areas i find catch mine out. The rest of the bike is the same as my previous CT.  Engine great, comfort good, suspension could be better.

I also love the look of it, ok id originally chosen Red and Black but i do think the one i have looks the dogs danglies.

Recently i read again that Honda may drop the CT, what a shame that would be, I truly believe that with a bit more effort Honda could make a very good bike into a great bike. The areas they should address have been discussed on here many times.

The big question is, if some one took my bike away tomorrow and gave me all my money back to spend again what would i buy? ill have the same again please...

Pretty much agree spot on with that Hartley. I'd be interested in how you find the Michelins, I've been really impressed with the grip, wet and dry, longevity remains to be seen. I'm about 4K in, maybe 2k left?

I'd be gutted if they dropped the CT, I want led headlights and cruise control. Where did you hear this?

I agree with comments above. I'm 6k miles on silver over black DCT (1 year service on Saturday). Would be a shame if they stopped the CT but would be intrigued to know what would replace it. Either way I'll be keeping mine for a good few years; as others said, it would be tough to find a worthy replacement especially with the DCT which makes the difference for me.

:460: Although I have the manual version I too would not hesitate in buying another CT, only difference next time it would be a DCT version.
