    In Peril!

     Hello All,

My name is Peter, and atm i own a Ninja 1000, a bike that i have to say i am extremely happy with. Alas the wife is not!.. she is not comfortable and always complains. So i decided to go for a more upright and touring/ adv oriented bike. The 3 contenders were the Caponord 1200 Rally, the Vstrom 1000 XT and ofc the amazing Crosstourer (VFR1200x in USA where i currently live).
The Caponord has been eliminated since its discontinued! so the battle in my mind is between the Vstrom and the CT! My biggest concerns are how many troubles i will get along the way and how hard the maintenance is. I had a few bad experiences with the dealership's around my area so i prefer to do everything myself. I'm pretty set on the CT cause its simply that much more beautiful than anything else out there, but i would like to hear from all you if you had any weird issues or if the bike has some major flaws.

    Thank you!

    Hi petethegeek.

:400: to the group. I currently ride a 2015 CT highlander currently miles just under 16.000 miles a part from the shaft drive and that's being sort way back at least for me on my second set of tyres so far fuel range depending how you ride is about 190 miles on main tank plus reserve 220 miles ish read veejay suspension settings better than honda's as starting point it's a bike to ride the CT can run away some times so keep an eye on your speed oh yes it's a tad heave but get used to it and injoy take some test rides on the DCT or the manual you chose on that one depending how tall you are you may need a lower seat that's it at least for me just read the rest.

    Regards

Hey Firefox, thank you for the reply, im 6,1 and fit perfect on the CT, i just never had the chance of testing one and honestly that's the only thing that hold me back. The Ninja or Z1000sx in EU has tons of torque and power so im used to that :)

:400: and safe riding  :305:  :0461: everything Fire Fox said and also check rear suspension adjuster as some were changed under warranty due to seizing.

The v4 engine my take you by surprises bit if you not used a v4 be for 1st gear is
About 30mph second gear is about 77 mph plus the v4 is what we all love it just pulls all the way to over take in top no need to change down around town it's low on revs 70 mph is about 4000 revs ish it's just a joy to ride as you are tall you made to ajuster the rear damper to at least two from maximum to injoy your test ride.
