    Another first impressions

Picked up my CT on Saturday and said a teary goodbye to my Versys 1000, to date by far the best bike I've owned
First trip on the CT and I was a little disappointed in the manual gearbox, it seems Honda have copied Moto Guzzi in that first to second is REALLY clunky.
That said, like MG, the rest of the changes are pretty good though not a patch on the Versys.
Heated grips seem very poor compared to Oxford after market ones.
But the power delivery, oh now that is something else!
Just an almost unbelievable wave of torque to ride, often found myself approaching the ton without intending to.
The sound with the newly fitted Delkevic 450 is stunning.
All in all, happy with the build quality, handling and power oh, and the brakes are by far the best I've ever encountered.
Just a shame about that box, but experience tells me there will be a way to minimise the clunk, just have to find it.

We all might complain about our bikes in our own ways but NO-ONE complains about the engine (... probably until now!!)

No question about engine, an absolute stormer. Had a couple of rides out now and although the gearbox is a little clunky from first to second, I've managed to learn the way the box works best so no longer an issue.
Love the induction roar and the throaty rumble from the back end. Surprisingly, not finding the weight an issue at all in fact it is quite agile for it's size.
NOT regretting the purchase at all.

I never got what VFR riders said about the engine.  But I've come around. I quite like the growl.

As for the gearbox.  Mine has a mind of its own.  AND it's lovely!  bwah ha ha!
Bikes are like women.  What you want and what you think you want change after the first ride.

Hi Haartz, My CT has done over 18000 , I do all up changes  apart from 1/2nd without using the clutch- so you should find the box will ease with a few miles,  You will find that the CT is not really a town bike - the open road is where it thrives , 4000/5000 in top is where it belongs - only problem -speed limits :157: you will find the CT  goes faster than you realise

    Hi Haartz,
    Welcome along.
I think there are plenty of complaints on the heated grips. Glad you like the rest. You'll get the hang of smooth changes as the miles clock up.
