The Honda mechanic here has never needed to adjust at 24k and he has only ever had to do two at 48k.

OK... I don't get the last bit of the sentence "and he has only ever had to do two at 48k". Problably a manner of speak. Would you mind put it in other words? #englishisnotmynativelanguage
Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling

He means, the mechanic has never had to adjust as 24000 mile first valve clearance inspection. But has had to adjust at second valve clearance inspection at 48000 miles.

I ve probably checked around a dozen Hondas some even twice, and never had to adjust any yet but don't assume that you will here them when they are out as the majority of them go tight and not loose so you may just get a slightly "fluffy" engine or not quite up on performance.

You guys should check valve clearances on my CT :-D . 24000 km maintenance and three valve clearances out of specification. Done by one of the main dealers here in Finland (owned by the importer). Did not notice any change whatsoever before and after. No oil consumption or any extra noises from the engine. Now over 40 000 km and going strong..

Yeah, that makes sense, as the valve face and seat wear, the valve is allowed to retract deeper into
the head and reduces the gap clearance between the valve stem and the cam lobe or rocker arm....
