    Crankcase (carter) problem and protections

    Hi everybody
After a stupid fall with my crosstourer 2012 on the right, I broke the crankcase attack to the right deflector. It seems to me a delicate point since only the crankcase costs € 550 for a stupid fall that can happen again. Some protection to avoid the hurt where is the red circle?

It was just welded before, so more fragile. I need something like the black bars that protects the upper side of the bike

May be useful something like this:

You need a better welder - I use to weld a lot of the stuff like that and it was holding just fine.

Hmm If you weld many times in the same point the point can be more fragile and not more elastic. Then to weld (I do not do by myself) may be expensive in work and time. Something to protect against stupid accidental fall, may help to avoid another crash.

The weld does not hold because the whole weight of the bike hits in that specific point.

If you believe so you need to change it.

To change what? The crank case? I find something used with some very light scratches than mine broken today, about 100€. The last weld work costed to me 260€ (includes weld work and mechanic work, oil substitution and so on). But I think that the substitution it is not enough
