New Cross Tourer - Collecting this weekend

    Hello,

After what seems a lifetime on BMW's I have been swayed to the VFR 1200 X Crosstourer T-DCT Highlander edition.

I collect it on Saturday 12th November and am looking forwards to getting to grips with it

I am sure that there will be lots of questions from me and hopefully I will be able to contribute as my knowledge grows. It is a long time since I owned a Honda - My first "big" bike was a VFR 750F/K followed by an ST1100 Pan European which I didn't gel at all with so then I went down the BMW route for many years and still have my pride & joy - a BMW R1200S with all the toys which I attach a photo of!

Active on boxertrix.com (BMW) and UKlegacy.com (Subaru) so that should tell you something about me!

Resident in the UK near Gravesend in Kent and ride mainly for pleasure but with a new job I am returning to the London commute on the Honda suitably equipped with a Datatool alarm & tracker!

    Best regards,

    David :028:

:400: aboard David, enjoy your new CT mate.
By the way is that your "Jota Motor" - bloody gorgeous, and one of the best sounding standard bikes ever produced, fond memories of watching Roger Winterburn wrestling one around Brands, Mallory and Oulton etc. :028:

     :400: David.
Very important though...  You must get the 'right' colour or you may be blackballed  :012:
Enjoy it. It's quite an exclusive club. Don't fall off with shock if you spot another one. Cheers

    Hello,

    Thanks for the welcome all.

Dave56 - The Laverda Jota was mine from new when in 1980 I paid the princely sum of 1500GBP. I only managed 18k miles over the next 32 years when in 2012 I finally sold it for 12,500GBP! So quite an investment really but....I wish I still had it

asw63632004 - My new Crosstourer... Well I wanted a red one but there were none available new in my time frame but my new best friends at Dobles in Coulsdon were able to provide me with the white/black with the gold trim with all the goodies (Akro. Etc.). Hope that is the fastest/correct one that won't get me drummed out of here just as soon as I have joined :001:

    Best regards,

    David
