Hey guys, I had the same problem last year and wrote something in a post on here, but just to let you know again that mine was reported to Honda who said they had never heard of the problem before (they should read these posts then), and suggested they change the master cylinder as I suspect that is where the issue was and hey presto no more issues. 2016 crosstourer.

My 2014 has been doing this and the front brake was binding while on a ride.
Mechanic could not find anything but when he checked and replaced the brake pads he found the hole where the pin goes through was oval which allowed the pads to move and locking the brakes meaning i could not use the lever.
We are not sure this is the problem and i have not been able to take the bike out on a long enough run to confirm it but its worth checking.

Sorry my bad for not updating.

Issue was faulty ABS module, Honda replaced free of charge after much pressure from me.

My faith in Honda was restored as a result and I am still loving this bike as well as my 2016 CRF1000 Africa Twin

hi guys, since changing the brake fluid about a year ago now the brake lever lock has not occurred again, when bleeding system there was some funny grating noise from abs unit area as full lever travel was applied but it has not happened since
