A Wee Ride, Scotland
on: October 03, 2015, 05:00:10 PM
Hello Folks,

I firstly apologise for the thread title to any locals as there are no photos of any "wee rides :007:" I'm afraid. WTF anyway? Its a Honda forum! :001:

So had a chance of a day out on my tod and it looked like we were going to be still blessed with the spate of glorious weather we have been having recently so got my act together early doors and headed north up the lochside (Loch Lomond) in freezing fog (ok actually 12C.)

Eventually breaking through to blue sky and pretty much clear roads, first stop Connel Bridge after spotting the water had dropped and the white water had appeared. First time I have seen it. Plenty off ballsy canoe folks having a play in it. A real anomaly. http://www.fallsoflora.info/

Onward and round to Glencoe and its "pap" in the background there.

Through Fort William, cos that all you want to do there and up to the Commando Memorial a mile north of Spean Bridge.

Ok maybe you would want to stop in Fort William and fuel up and get a photie of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. You don't always get to see it, see? Cos its Scotland. And we have weather. Mostly sh#t weather. I got lucky... :082:

Heading back south to the bridge at Ballachulish, that you don't want to cross cos then you can fire round the B863 which is an absolute peach of road and should never be missed. Really technical and difficult to want to stop to grab a few pics. But the views and the light were getting special today...

Through Glencoe (A82) with little traffic.

Apart from some folk parked and staring at the sky. A-ha! Watched the big Sikorsky having a practice. Some skills.

Then it was "haimeldaeme" for him and me too.

And onto Rannoch Moor. Sometimes it can look like another planet. But today it just looked beautiful.

The sun went down and it was a proper blast back down to Glasgow. Always a joy with that V4. Spazzed out on the slouch couch with a beer and still buzzing. Great day.

Apologies for the quality of the pics, they appear to have taken a real doing after upload to the gallery/site here. Hope you still enjoyed them and youse got some ideas cos not all motorcycle joy is heading south! :031:

Funny that's exactly what I was thinking looking at your pics

I'm generally spoiled living where I do now but these pics reminded me just how stunning some bits of our island are, so thanks for that  :821:

Looks like a great days riding was had  :062:
