Cost of services on CT in SA
on: September 16, 2015, 03:35:05 PM
So, had my CT serviced on 12000km (interval here in SA) :156:

Service price was ok-ish, about R1600 (about $125 or 110Euros) :155:
my problem is the cost of brakes fitted by the Honda Dealer R3950! ($297 or 265Euros) :192:

Aftermaket Cinted brakes will cost me R1200 fitted ($90 or 80Euros)  :084:

worst part is the standard Nissin brake pads last, you guessed it 12000KM!  :232:

so I have to fork out around R5500 ($420 or 380Euros) a service...ridiculous :151:

any of you experienced the same thing?

feeling annoyed... :157:

Hi Goose...
I'd be happy to get 12000km on a set of Brakes...my city commute means I'm looking at pads for front at @6500km and back pads at 12000...
I keep an eye out for genuine pads on offer....don't forget they are fitted to more than one Honda model and aim to have a set in my toolbox ready to go....Your 12000km service sounds reasonable otherwise  :169:

Amazing the different mileage people are getting from pads. Just had my CT serviced 13700 miles the pads were still not on the wear indicators. A had a genuine set I got cheap and the dealer fitted them FOC as they would be cleaning the calipers anyway. That's with a 2700 mile tour of the Alps, about the same in the Harz mountains two up and countless miles in Wales.

This isn't a judgement on anyone's riding.
