Heading to Wales
on: August 12, 2015, 07:48:08 PM
Looking at heading over for a day in Wales on the 3rd Sept and was wondering if anyone fancied meeting up for a bite and a brew somewhere.
The only place I know of is the Ponderosa but I'm open to other suggestions.
As my final destination is Llandudno any suggestions for possible routes would also be really helpful.  :028:

Would have loved to but I'm working that day   :005:

Now if you make it the day before.............  happy to oblige and show you some "tidy" roads?

Or come over on the Wednesday and do a B&B overnight and we'll have a beer?

Roads?  Depends on whether you want North, South or Mid Wales

From Grantham into Wales and back will be a very long day!

Hi Dave, I'd have definitely been up for this but I'm away on holiday on that date.

I love riding in that area.

Bugger, sorry Bert but can only make the Wednesday or possibly the Thursday as I'm travelling from Grantham to visit my mum in Landudno for a couple of days.

Thanks for the link and that sounds like a plan Bert, I'm more than happy to leave time and place to you as you know the area far better than me mate. :028:

Assuming you now mean meet up on the Wed 02 Sept ?

If you're travelling over from Grantham on that day - heading for LLandudno, I'm happy to ride up from West Wales for a coffee and a natter mid-way, but you won't want to venture much further south as Llandudno is actually north from Mid Wales.

McDonalds in Newtown Powys is always a favourite meeting place
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/McDonald's+Pool+Road/@52.5142614,-3.310071,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x486ffc8d37fd9ac5:0x7df3af193c6e6832

Grantham to Newtown is 142 miles and over 3 hours riding!

Then Newtown to Llandudno is another 90 miles  - taking best part of another 3 hours!

Not huge distances but the majority of the route is cross-country

Anyone else fancy meeting up?
