O2 Eliminators, General observation.
on: August 09, 2015, 10:10:35 AM
Just completed a 7000km ride in 2 weeks. Rode the bike daily, some great country roads, some even better twisty passes and quite alot of boring hwy running. But anyway thats not what this is about.

Read all previous posts regarding the O2 eliminators and so decided to give them a try. Fitting them before such a big trip, possibly a bad idea.... :157:
My experience was, definitely more "urge" from low down, particularly out of corners. A smoother throttle response, although I thought it was ok beforehand. Better acceleration in top when overtaking at hwy speeds, however thats where the honeymoon ends.

The extra fuel used on this trip alone has far outweighed the positives. Absolutely shocking when your into it and could not match my previous numbers when cruising. I think I got a fair read on things being loaded with luggage and not along the way.

So in conclusion, my 2014 manual Crosstourer no longer has O2 eliminators fitted. Well worth experimenting with and if I ever have the urge to do a track day on this big fat pig of a thing for a giggle, I would fit them again. But for general running, not for me. Hope this helps anyone giving them consideration.
I'm not as dumb as you look.

No longer an owner but did 23000m over 2 years on a DCT and fitted eliminators. The low speed, low constant throttle opening, causing final drive 'clacking' was  VERY annoying to me. The O2 sensor eliminators reduced this effect, (not completely) but I kept the bike, which I was seriously thinking of getting rid because of it. Did not notice any mpg difference.

I noticed no performance difference. Cheap, eBay from Greece, accessing the 2 connectors up behind the rad requires working blind with a dexterous hand.  :013:

Is this the snatchly throttle feeling I am getting on my demo bike. I t quite smooth the first times I took the bike out, but then it was a pure demo so lots of throttle, now I am thinking of buying it I took it a bit smoother and hated the snatching.

Is this the same? I know due to emissions maps get made to cut fuel etc, so does the O2 things sort this?
