Schuberth C3, Any thoughts ?
on: July 21, 2015, 09:28:47 AM
I've been looking at another lid, and I'm looking for some opinions, good and bad!

I've always been an Aria rider, then five years ago switched to Shoei, which I've found very comfortable in the main. I've a Hornet (superbly comfortable) and a GT Air.  I've also had the flip front version, wh'os name escapes me, but this was awful, uncomfortable and I never liked it - so sold it.

I now have a need for a flip front lid (a bit more practical for what I'm taking on), and living where I do the choice is limited with what's in the shops.  I did try on a HJC flip front with an integrated sun visor, but this hit my nose... not good, and I don't like the Shoei offering, Aria don't do flip fronts!.

I've looked around and considered the AGV, but I think I'm drawn to the Schuberth C3 - Only I know nothing about them, only what I read in reviews which is promising.  As it'll be a postal/internet purchase I'm looking for any opinions on sizing. Schuberth have different break points (58-59=L, 60-61=XL) than the others, and I'm a 59.5cm head, so trying to decide on L or XL is difficult.

Any other suggestions for flip fronts would be useful too.

I had a C3 but I thought it was expensive for the quality. I now use a Shark Evoline and recommend it as you can ride open face or full face due to the chin bar flipping all the way to the back

Never considered the Shark, and at under £200 (FC-Moto) it's worth thinking about.  I like the way the chin bar flips right over - thanks

Mine is a Series 3 which come in a little more expensive but (supposedly) have major improvements regarding aerodynamics and noise levels over previous models. I ride 90% of the time with the chin bar in the rear position and find the helmet very comfortable
