OK, this isn't going to help you today, but,  I find walking shops like GoOutdoors are the best place to pick up a bargain, but only in the autumn/winter when they are ditching the summer leftovers. 

I picked up a great pair of tops from Mountain Warehouse when they closed the local shop, I think the tops were £5 on a BOGOF offer.  Yes, the HiVis yellow one is a bit much for the breakfast table, but great on the days when you need to take your jacket off.

I wouldn't go pass Merino wool products, they are fantastic.

yep, I got a merino top, expensive but good.
