Hi to all from Australia
on: May 28, 2015, 01:06:38 AM
Purchased my VFR1200X a couple of weeks ago. Traded my VFR1200F DCT for it. Very happy with the change. I should have bought the Crosstourer originally. Ride position suites me as it's more upright and doesn't seem to suffer too much from vibrations through the bars. Put a GIVI Airflow screen on it, sensational! Works so well I can ride with my visor open. No turbulence or wind noise around my head. Only problem is the last couple of mornings it's been a bit frosty and I'm not getting enough air through the chin-vent to stop my visor fogging up.
I'm planning a trip to Aires Rock in August. I would appreciate any suggestions for suspension upgrades, as the trip will involve a fair about of dirt/gravel roads.

Hi Ray, we did the trip out to Ayres Rock last May with a group of friends (and trusty pillion) however we  did it all on sealed roads. Lots of long straight roads but the country is well worth seeing. If you can you should try and avoid the caravan parks if you like to sleep because there's not a lot of sound insulation in a nylon tent. Best if you free camp off the road, we tried to find a site by about 3.30-4.00 so we could be set up before dark. Try as many rough roads as you can with your bike set up as it will for the trip, I've had mine for two years and 30,000ks and love it but the suspension is HARSH. Contact me if you want any help with your trip. Cheers and welcome to ownership.

Just don't leave your baby alone in the tent. ;)
