Yes, been to Dolomiti area many times. This year I will ride from Sicily to Germany through Italy, maybe get the ferry from Bari to Split, not sure yet which option I will take.

Hi Pippobis, my wife and I spent last June in Italy. We stayed in Rome for 5 nights, did a cruise through the greek islands and Turkey and then spent the last 10 days travelling through the quieter country areas of Italy including La Spezia, Tuscany and along the western coast. It was a fantastic journey filled with surprises (we don't speak Italian), everywhere you turn is so much history. Unfortunately we weren't riding but one day would like to return to ride the passes similar to what you rode. It was the best holiday of our lives and hopefully will not be the last, I just wish it wasn't so far away...   :062:

@ SunandSee:
great nice tour, it will be fun.
I read that you're in Malta, I have a dear friend in San Gwann, who first lived near here.

@ colngezsct:

There are many other beautiful things in Italy, especially to be seen traveling on a motorcycle. But Australia is far away .....
I also would like to turn the bike in Australia.

Australia is a very vast country to ride in, you can have some great winding and undulating roads (mainly near the coastline) and some incredibly straight and a little boring on a bike. We toured out to Ayres Rock last May and whilst it was nice to have been there and experienced it, I wouldn't do it again. I know we only scratched the surface of not only Italy but there is also the rest of Europe to discover... I better start saving my pennies! :152:
