Top case fell off...
« on: October 16, 2014, 07:07:30 PM »
This morning, I was riding to work, highway, 06.00 AM, pitch black, raining, lots of traffic...

Suddenly, I feel something pushing in my back.  I look back and see that the original Honda top case has come loose.  It rests somewhat on the seat.  I pull towards the emergency lane, en there the case just fell off.

I contacted my Honda dealer, and he claims that it would be the first time it happens.  He did invite me to come over and show the dammage, so he could change the case.

Has anybody experienced this before?

Never heard of there being a problem with the Honda box other than the well documented leaking on the first bikes

Still... it did... left the case at home today.  I don't trust it anymore.

Tomorrow at the dealer for a warranty change.

It stayed on for about 30 km before it came loose.

OK... Honda says : "human error"... sure... I must have jerked off the ignition key when not closed or be a stupid chicken that put the box "just" on the holder...

And it stays on for 30 kms highway...

My dealer! (NOT Honda!) offers me a new Hepco&Becker Xplorer topcase for free if I buy the Hepco&Becker Xplorer  side-panniers at his shop.

I'm very tempted to take his offer (+ I get a 10% discount on the side-panniers), as I was looking for a good set of panniers anyway.

Hi,
The oem top case on my 2014 CT is shaky and making noise on bumpy roads.
I've checked the plate, it's loose.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

All nuts are tight.
Just plate are sitting on soft rubber sleeves from factory. I don't understand why.
