The 16k service is pricey no doubt about it. But with 8k intervals, shaft drive and reasonable tyre wear I think the CT is actually quite a cheap bike to run when you consider the engine size, torque, power and weight.
If you want expensive running costs try a Ducati or a Harley  :005:

I'm interested if anyone has had a 16k service and the valves have needed adjusting?????

I spoke with an owner of a VFRX that took his bike in for a dealer service at 30k miles, the very first service.  They checked the valves and no adjustment was necessary.

On these, rock-solid, Honda engines.... I figure one adjustment is necessary for the whole darn life of the bike.

I'm sure I read on another forum thread (from one of the mega milers) that after hundreds of thousands of miles their bikes had a only had the valves checked a couple of times and even then the amount of adjustment was negligible. Hopefully they will read this and clarify for us.
