Ignition key stuck

The ignition key is sometimes stuck and won't pull out , anyone else find this and have suggestions ?

Do you have trouble with the spare as well ? Maybe a slight imperfection on one key ? A quick squirt of WD40 might help. Back to the dealers either way, I suggest  as no problems have been reported so far on here .

I wouldn't use WD40 or any fluid in your lock. You better use some graphite powder, helps with locks en keys.

I had the same problem a while ago, and my dealer told me to put some chain lube in it. It sticks better than WD40. Now I have no problem anymore.

Me too, got in a right panic with the spare key.

Dealer told me to use some 3in1 rather than WD40

Related issue
My bike is now ignition locked and I am unable to unlock it. Luckily the bike is in my garage, but I obviously can't use it. Have used graphite, makes the key enter more easily, but can't turn it.
Have managed to twist my main key 30 degrees (those precious things are soft oops), and using the spare one doesn't help

I had the issue last year, and graphite had resolved it. Not this time...

Last winter I've had an issue with my TDM 900: ignition lock won't turn. This was caused by some water drops and some dirt that got inside the lock. And when air temp drops below 0 - water and dirt freezes inside the lock not letting me to turn the key. So I've had to warm up the lock to turn the key. I've also had the same issue with a padlock on the garage door.

In 2013 Russian motojournalists had a problem with Crosstourer key in the beginning of 11 000 km journey on the VFR1200X and R1200GS across the Russia. They stopped on the gas station, removed the tank bag, fueled the bike, forgot the key inside the tank lock, and put the tank bag on top of the key. Key got bent at ~90 degree. They pulled it out of the tank lock, put it in the ignition lock, tried to turn it - and it break apart inside the ignition lock. They didn't want to interrupt their journey, so they spent the full tank of gas (making 400 km out of it) to get to their friend's garage service where they solved this problem, and continued their trip.

Sorry :450: You've got great taste in Bikes Rex, I've got a TDM900 alongside my CT too. They're great bikes.
Also in the garage: Yamaha TDM900 & XTZ750.
