hi LP.

What KM is your Crosstourer at now ?.

I am going to buy one in the beginning og 2019. Have been riding a rent Crosstourer in Oktober 2018 for 2200 km in the Alps.

Have tried the Triumph 1200 Explorer and Yamaha Xt 1200 , the Crosstourer is the best bike for me, and I will never buy a BMW GS 1200/1250 as they are everywhere.

Best regards Per from DK

What have the valve adjustments been like over that period? What I'm looking for is are they running relatively the same sort of interval between adjustments or does the interval get shorter as the kms get higher? (indicating a bit of valve recession maybe).

I'm at 30,000kms now, and in the transition from cold engine to operating temp there's a point about half way through warm up where they get a little noisy, but at operating temp they're quiet. I got 90,000kms out of my BMW (F800 with the Rotax engine) without ever touching the valves, and so far this seems to be going the same way.

Hi Snowy,

I think the noise you talk of maybe a common thing. Both my CTs have done it. Like you say, starts quietly, then gets a bit noisey ( mechanical noise)then quietens a down. I’ve never noticed it when riding but if I start the bike up and leave it running until it’s hot  ( after cleaning for instance) I hear it.

Would this be the same as you’re experiencing?
